Quartz tube

Quartz tubes as sight glasses

Description:

A quartz tube made of transparent quartz glass is used as a water measuring tube (for measuring the liquid level), as a heating tube (for the manufacture of electric heating devices), for various devices and apparatuses. The quartz tube is heat-resistant and is designed to operate at temperatures up to 1250 degrees Celsius.

Quartz tubes intended for installation in valves of locking devices of liquid level indicators must have an outer diameter of 20 mm and withstand a maximum pressure of 30 kgf / cm2. The ends of the tubes are cut and ground prior to installation.

In our warehouse there are more than 50,000 pcs. quartz tubes. If you have high requirements for the quality of the tubes (for example, a diameter with an accuracy of 0.1 mm, etc. is required), you can drive up to the warehouse and pick up the tubes in person. In the same place at the warehouse, we can cut you a tube in accordance with your requirements.

To buy reflex glass DIN 7081 in Moscow in the Company Dominic in two steps:

  1. Choose the delivery method (courier delivery or transporting company);
  2. Send us a request (what kind of products, quantity, other details are required) to the address — info@techsteklo.ru or let us know your need by phone: +7 (495) 231-36-71;

Physical properties of quartz glass

    The quartz glass from which the quartz tube is made has a number of unique properties unattainable for other materials. Its thermal expansion coefficient is extremely small. The transformation point and softening temperature of quartz are very high. On the other hand, the low coefficient of thermal expansion of quartz determines its unusually high heat resistance. The electrical resistance of quartz is much higher than the best silicate glasses. This makes quartz an excellent material for the manufacture of insulating elements that work when heated.

    The transparency of quartz in the ultraviolet part of the spectrum is higher than that of all other electro vacuum materials. High-quality transparent quartz glass transmits radiation even at a wavelength of 1800 Å.
     Quartz glass has a high chemical resistance. Quartz, unlike ordinary silicate glass, is not affected by boiling (neutral) water. Pure quartz glass is also not affected by hydrochloric and sulfuric acids. Hydrofluoric and phosphoric acids, as well as alkalis and basic salts, interact with quartz, especially when heated.
     In the infrared part of the spectrum, the transparency of quartz is as high as in ultraviolet. For radiation with a wavelength of less than 3.6 μm (36000 Å), quartz is almost completely transparent. At large wavelengths, transparency decreases, and at 5 μm (50,000 Å) it is already very small. The absorption bands lie at 3.3 and 4.3 μm (33000 and 43000 Å).
